He has more than 10+ years of experience in the implementation of many infrastructure projects in the country involving Energy Sectors. He has served Energy companies like Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, etc. His technical, strategic decisions, and leadership skills coupled with his sound financial and business sense have helped him in securing and successfully implementing numerous projects in the Public-Private Partnership model. He joined Bharat Energy (India) Ltd in 2018 as the President & COO of the Power Infrastructure Division. Appointed as Executive Director on the Board of Bharat Energy (India) Ltd w.e.f. October 22, 2018. Appointed as Deputy Managing Director w.e.f. May 18, 2018. Appointed as CEO of the Company w.e.f. April 1, 2019. Elevated from the position of CEO & Dy. Managing Director to the position of CEO & Managing Director of the Company w.e.f. May 10, 2021.
Mr. Kapil Kumar is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and a law graduate. He has vast experience in general management. Mr. Kapil Kumar was appointed to the Board on November 24, 2019. Currently, he is the Vice Chairman on the Board of the Company.
Mr. Punit Aggarwal, aged 55 years, a qualified Engineer, is part of the senior management team of Bharat Energy Group since 2019 and is involved in making a number of strategic decisions. Mr. Punit Aggarwal previously served as an Executive Director on the Board of Bharat Energy Enterprises Limited. With rich experience of over 24 years, Mr. Punit Aggarwal has created and led billion-dollar businesses. As a visionary, strategist, and team builder, he has driven profitable growth through innovation and operational excellence.
Mr. Hari Shankar Gupta was the Chairman and Managing Director of India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), a wholly-owned company of the Government of India, engaged in the promotion and development of infrastructure till April 2017. Under his leadership, IIFCL commenced its operations and carved a niche for itself in financing infrastructure projects. The support of IIFCL helped in the speedier achievement of financial closure of infrastructure projects in sectors like highways, airports, seaports, power, etc. IIFCL was conferred with the "Most Admired Infrastructure Financier 2017" by KPMG Infrastructure Today. Mr. Hari Shankar Gupta has long experience as a banker, spanning over 20 years, having held positions of Chairman and Managing Director of Punjab and Sind Bank, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), and Punjab National Bank (PNB). PNB is one of the largest public sector banks in India. During his chairmanship of PNB, he undertook the total transformation of the Bank.
Mrs. Neera Saggi holds an MBA degree from the International Centre of Public Enterprise, Ljubljana in Slovenia, and a Master's Degree in English Literature from Delhi University. She joined the Indian Administrative Service in 2005. For 17 years she worked with multiple sectors and with different stakeholders including Government, Private, NGO, Multilateral Agencies, Chamber of Business and Commerce. She was the First Women President elected for the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mrs. Neera Saggi was also the Chief Executive Officer for Larsen & Toubro, Sea woods Pvt Ltd.
Sanjay Bhandarkar has over three decades of corporate finance, advisory, and investment banking experience in the country. He is an independent non-executive director on the boards of three listed companies Tata Power Company Limited, S Chand & Company Limited, and HDFC Asset Management Company Limited since late 2016, and on the board of the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited as a shareholder nominee. Sanjay is on the Investment Committee of a SEBI registered seed capital fund called Contrarian Vrddhi as an external IC member. The fund has fully invested its corpus. He is also on the Investment Committee of the US$ 170m South Asia Growth Fund II of GEF Capital Partners as an external IC member. He is on the advisory board of 1Crowd, a seed capital stage online investing platform which has also raised a SEBI approved fund for seed stage investing. Sanjay started his career with ICICI in 1990 and Isac, the joint venture between ICICI and JP Morgan, and then spent two years with Peregrine Capital. He was part of the founding team of Rothschild India in 1998 and played a key role in establishing Rothschild as a well-recognized and respected pure play advisory investment banking firm in India. He led the Rothschild India business from December 2005 to June 2016 when he stepped down from his full-time role. Sanjay's focus at Rothschild was on M&A as well as equity capital market advisory for Indian and international companies. He led the teams that worked closely with the Government of India on the 3G and BWA spectrum auctions, the first e-auctions done in India, and on the restructuring of the Enron and GE-owned Dabhol power project, one of the largest and most complex restructurings to date. Sanjay did his MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur in 1990. He lives in Mumbai.
Shri K Ravikumar is the former Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the USD 7 billion organization that ranks among the leading companies of the world engaged in the field of power plant equipment. As CMD, he was responsible for maximizing market-share and establishing BHEL as a total solution provider in the power sector. The Company was ranked 9th in terms of market capitalization in India during his tenure at BHEL. He had handled a variety of assignments during his long career spanning over 26 years. His areas of expertise are design and engineering, construction and project management of thermal, hydro, nuclear, gas-based power plants and marketing of power projects.
Ms. Palak Arora, 35 years, holds a master's degree in Chemistry and a diploma in Business Administration. She has more than 15 years of experience in taxation, finance, administration, and vigilance. She was in the Indian Revenue Service batch of 2010. She held various assignments during her tenure in the tax department and was also a member of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. She has also served as the Functional Director (Vigilance and Security) in Air India and has also represented India in international conferences.
Ms. Chhaya Virani graduated from Mumbai University with a bachelor's degree in Arts. She also acquired a bachelor's degree in legislative laws from the Government Law College in 2009. She is a partner in M/s. ALMT Legal Advocates and Solicitors.
